Berlin
Art, appetite and late nights. 12 places, chosen and checked for 2026.
Berlin is Europe's late city: its best evenings start after dinner and finish after dawn. By day, the lakes of Wannsee and the Adlon by the Brandenburg Gate show its more stately side.
Hotel Adlon Kempinski
Berlin's most famous hotel stands beside the Brandenburg Gate. The original Adlon opened in 1907; today's building was rebuilt on the same site and reopened in 1997.
Hotel de Rome
A Rocco Forte hotel in the 1889 headquarters of the Dresdner Bank on the Bebelplatz, with a former bank vault turned pool and a rooftop terrace over the State Opera.
Rutz
Berlin's only three-star restaurant, on Chausseestraße in Mitte. Chef Marco Müller's cooking is rooted in German forests, rivers and fields, with a wine bar downstairs for something more casual.
Restaurant Tim Raue
Tim Raue's Asian-inspired cooking, built without bread, potatoes, rice, white sugar or dairy. His wasabi langoustine is one of the most famous dishes in German fine dining.
Horváth
Sebastian Frank turns the regional cooking of his native Austria into avant-garde tasting menus, on the Landwehr Canal in Kreuzberg.
CODA Dessert Dining
René Frank's restaurant serves a tasting menu built entirely on desserts: the only two-star restaurant of its kind in Germany.
FACIL
A glass pavilion in a bamboo courtyard on the fifth floor of The Mandala Hotel, a calm two-star table a few steps from Potsdamer Platz.
