The 50 Best Bars 2026: Europe's winners, and where to find them
Milan's Moebius is the best bar in Europe, Athens has three bars in the top 50 and Paris four. Every European bar from the 2026 list that sits in one of our cities, with addresses.
The headline
Bar Leone in Hong Kong kept the title of best bar in the world, but Europe took second place: Moebius Milano, a bar, restaurant and record room in a former textile factory, climbed from seventh. Line in Athens was fifth and the Connaught Bar in London eighth, on its seventeenth appearance on the list, more than any other bar.
Paris, the city of the year
Four Paris bars are in the top 50: The Cambridge Public House at 13, Bar Nouveau at 15, the newcomer De Vie at 23 and Danico at 26. Little Red Door, the bar where much of the modern Paris scene began, is at 93.
Athens, the surprise
Three Athens bars are in the top 50: Line, The Bar in Front of the Bar, which climbed 28 places to 19th and took the Highest Climber award, and the agave bar Barro Negro at 40. Baba au Rum and the newcomer Naked are in the 51 to 100.
London and Barcelona
London has three in the top 50: the Connaught Bar, Satan's Whiskers in Bethnal Green at 29, and Waltz, a hushed Shoreditch bar that opened only in 2025, at 32. In Barcelona, Sips is 16th and Paradiso 17th, with the Legend of the List award.
How to get a seat
- Go early. Most of these bars are small and fill by nine.
- Book where you can. Several take reservations online, often only a week ahead.
- Sit at the bar. It is the best seat in the house, and the bartender will guide you.
- Ask for the house signature first, then let them choose the second drink.
