48 hours in Vienna: where to stay, dine and drink
Cake, coffee-house manners and one of the great tables of Europe. A weekend in Vienna planned from the Atlas.

Day one
Arrive at the Hotel Sacher in time for a slice of the original Sacher-Torte.
Dinner at Steirereck, the glass-walled dining room in the Stadtpark, famous for its bread trolley and its cheese cart. Then a nightcap in the tiny, mirrored Loos American Bar, designed by Adolf Loos in 1908.
Day two
Lunch at Silvio Nickol in the Palais Coburg, above one of the great wine cellars of Europe.
In the evening, a cigar and a drink at Kruger's American Bar, open since the 1920s.
